A lazy Saturday at Uit de Keuken in Amsterdam West

Uit de Keuken Amsterdam West

Do you know the lazy Saturdays? This is absolutely the best day of the week! With a headache from the (party) night before, walking at my favourite Amsterdam food market, called the Ten Katemarkt. With to many bags in my hand I always stop for a breakfast by my favourite hotspot in my neighbourhood “Uit de Keuken” in English “out of the kitchen”.

This little place is based in the street directly behind the market. You will leave the hectic market to have a great time at this place, and if you are not careful you will stay here your whole day sitting outside in the sunshine or inside on one of the comfortable sofas.

What’s on the menu?

You can eat here all day long – from breakfast to lunch and dinner or just step by and take away!

My weekend routine is to order here my favourite breakfast made out of homemade granola, fruits, and some superfoods topped with some honey and mint with a Chai Soja.

When you are only in for a coffee treat yourself with a homemade granola bar, blueberry cheesecake or a brownie. If you want the fully “uit de keuken” experience, ask for the menu. They have a variation of different salads and sandwiches and the portions are huge!

The only downside of this place is that it sometimes looks as a playground packed with little children. So if you come for a good chat, try to come before or around noon. And if you have kids, enjoy this place your kiddo will like it!

My name is Anne, I’m a Dutch girl who is living in Amsterdam, a city that makes me smile day in day out! When I’m cycling in the early mornings to my work (like every Dutch person) I enjoy the “bike traffic”, the first boats in the beautiful canals and exploring Amsterdam by day and night!
